The event was conducted by the Council of Rural Research and Development Corporations Chair and the topic for the panel was: Rural R&D Challenges 2030 – Confronting Climate, Food, Water and Productivity.

 

The panel consisted of a scientist, primary producer, farm policy specialist (Dr Fisher), a public policy commentator and Council Chair. They discussed the macro challenges facing Australian agriculture – climate change, global food security, water availability and productivity – and the scientific breakthroughs needed to meet these challenges.
